Description
BD-7 Dynamic Broadcast Microphone with Built-In Preamp and XLR
A broadcast-style dynamic microphone with the preamp built into the body. That means up to 28 dB of extra gain at the microphone itself, so a quiet voice reaches a clean level without cranking a noisy interface input. A rear switch takes the preamp out of the circuit when you want a flat signal, and the gain steps, low-cut filter and presence boost cover the adjustments most spoken-word work actually needs. The cardioid capsule keeps off-axis room noise down, which makes it usable in untreated home studios.
Key Features
- Built-In Preamp — Add up to 28 dB of clean gain at the microphone instead of pushing a noisy interface input.
- Bypass Or Preamp Mode — A rear switch takes the preamp out of the circuit entirely when you want a flat, unboosted signal.
- Two Gain Steps — Choose +18 dB for most interfaces and mixers, or +28 dB for quiet sources and low-gain recorders.
- Switchable Sound Shaping — Low-cut reduces rumble and handling noise; presence boost lifts speech intelligibility without extra processing.
- Cardioid Dynamic Capsule — A tight cardioid pattern captures the voice in front of it and rejects side and rear noise, so untreated rooms stay usable.
- Yoke Mount And Foam Windscreen — The adjustable yoke locks at any angle with side knobs, and the foam windscreen softens plosives and wind noise.

What’s in the Box
- 1 x broadcast dynamic microphone with fitted foam windscreen and yoke mount
Care & Usage
- Leave the rear switch in bypass for a completely flat signal, and use preamp mode only when your interface or mixer needs extra level.
- Engage the low-cut position for close speech and boom-mounted use to reduce rumble and handling noise.
- Speak 2-6 in (5-15 cm) from the grille; moving closer thickens the low end, moving back keeps the tone neutral.
- Keep the foam windscreen fitted for plosive and wind control, and store the microphone dry.
